Parsons House La Porte is a thriving independent and assisted living community seeking a dynamic individual to assist with our programs as Activities/Resident Services Assistant. This position is part time. Schedule to be determined but may include weekends or holidays. We are looking for an energetic, dependable person who enjoys helping our residents engage in life both inside and outside our community. Experience working with seniors is preferred. Responsibilities for the Activities/Resident Services Assistant:

• Assist the Activity Director to develop and lead programming that will encourage participation, engagement and interaction.
• Programs may include but are not limited to wellness, social, intellectual, crafts and spiritual activities for seniors with: physical limitations, dementia and active lifestyles.
• Carry out the department goals and agenda.
• Driving residents to appointments or outings in our company vehicles.

What we require of our Activity Assistant Candidates:

• A clean driving record
• Must be 25 years or older for insurance purposes since driving is a requirement of the job
• At least 2 years experience in a senior living community (assisted living or nursing home)
• Must be able to clear a nationwide background check, TB test and drug screening.
• Compassion and flexibility a must!
