POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for day-to-day operations of the community. Assures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Oversight of property management, associates administration and provision of Resident services. Promotes the company’s mission and philosophy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

Resident Services

1

Assures implementation of policies and procedures relating to Resident care.

Supervises and assists in provision of all Resident services, including the coordination of

those provided by independently contracted ancillary health care providers as requested by Residents and families.

Conducts assessments, negotiates service plans, develops service schedules and updates service information as indicates by Resident need.

Ensures that Residents are appropriately assessed on a timely basis and charged in accordance with that assessment.

Assists Residents to participate in self-governance activity through Resident council and committee meetings.

Acts as an advocate for Residents and maintains communication with designated agents as requested and required.

Assures quality of Resident services.

Assures a high degree  of customer satisfaction at  residence. Promptly investigates complaints and reports findings and appropriate recommendation to the Vice President of

SSL Management Company. Ensures follow-up communication occurs to complainant and that substantiated complaints are resolved to reasonable satisfaction of complainant.

Ensures compliance with all rules and regulations related to Resident care (i.e. HIPAA, State Regulations and OSHA, etc.).

Maintains a professional demeanor with all Residents and their loved ones.

 

Associate Administration

Recruits, interviews, hires, supervises, evaluates and disciplines community associates.

Assures the availability of qualified appropriately trained associates.

3

Supervises and assists in orientation and training of associates.

Coordinates and assists in administration of wages/benefits for community associates assures accuracy of associate records and approves payment for work performed.

 

5

Assures associates’ adherence to all policies and procedures, all work, safety and administrative rules.

 

6

Ensures compliance with all rules and regulations related to associates (i.e. OSHA, Wage & Hours, FMLA, etc.).

Promotes the company’s mission and philosophy.

Maintains a professional demeanor with all associates.

9

Additional duties as assigned by Vice President.

 

Sales/Marketing

 

1

Develops and implements sales/marketing plans with Vice President and Sales Team to accomplish occupancy targets.

Develops and maintains a favorable public image; participates in community organizations for the promotion of the community and PSL.

Provides external marketing efforts on a weekly basis.

 

4

Meets sales/marketing goals or adjusts sales plans accordingly to accomplish occupancy targets.

 

Property Management

 

1

Coordinates community, Resident units, common areas and adjacent grounds with Maintenance Director.

 

Financial Responsibility

 

1

Operates with resources provided, assures income and expenses are controlled using annual budget projections.

Assures all financial records are properly maintained.

3

Participates in the development of an annual budget.

 

4

Assures that Resident invoices are delivered and the residence’s accounts receivables are collected on a timely, consistent basis.

 

Administrative Responsibility

Administrates, coordinates and directs all activities in accordance with policies and procedures.

Assures safety and security of community’s contents and inhabitants (Residents, associates and visitors).

Assures proper use of equipment/supplies.

4

Maintains and provides all data as requested, required.

 

5

Will be on call; arranges appropriate coverage when absent from community or unavailable to respond to emergencies.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Assures that adverse findings by company Quality reviews or state surveyors are promptly corrected and remain in compliance.

Ability to work flexible hours to meet requirements of the job and be on call.

Maintains car in good working order, current drivers license in good standing and auto insurance meeting company minimums is current.

Ability to teach/train others effectively.

 

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Level of Experience

Experience in managing a program or community for older adults preferred. One year of

supervisory experience required. Knowledge of an interest in working with older adults required.

 

Education, Technical or Professional License(s)/Certification(s)

High school diploma required. College credits or degree preferred or satisfy state experience requirements. If required by state law, maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Attendance at mandatory in-service training. Meet continuing education requirements on job classification and position.

Risk/Safety/Exposure Classification 

The essential functions of the job may require exposure to safety risks including but not limited to physical and/or mental health and safety (i.e., physical assault, communicable disease, etc.) exposure to bloodborne pathogens, exposure to latex, potential injury from transitioning residents, etc. Knowledge and implementation of the universal safety and sanitary precautions is critical.

 

This position may include access to Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined within the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security Rule. PHI refers to individually identifiable health information that is transmitted or maintained in electronic media or any other form or medium. Under the direction of the Privacy/Security Officer, Associates who have access to PHI will receive training on the requirements of the Rule and the PSL health information policies and procedures. Associates who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rule are subject to discipline, up to and including termination.
